Perfectly designed window treatments involve the consideration of the dynamics
within the area: Wall space, ceiling height, lighting influences and other architectural
influences. An original treatment diagnoses all aspects of the room, commingles
the personality of the owner and arrives at a unique special Treatment, creating
for you a signature style. If you live in a neighborhood where you need to leave
the porch light on to recognize your house from your neighbors, your individuality

That is a boxed question to ask a designer. Most of today's hard window treatments:
shades, shutters, blinds are sold at a multitude of stores and center. Their
popularity has grown substantially with the introduction of the BIG BOX CLUB
purchase offers. Unfortunately for many homeowners, they have seen these window
treatments as an answer to their homes needs and have settled for a look we saw
in the 50's of the venetian blind craze. Personally, I'd rather hang a sheet
over my window, at least it would be uniquely my sheet draping
style, and I could dress it up with a few sock tie backs.
Now that I have offended a large portion of the Hunter Douglas community,
let me say that blinds, shades and shutters when used in the correct color, appropriate
settings, and balanced in weight and scale to the room and its furnishings provides
a much welcome need in our window treatment world .Step it up a notch by the
use of cornices, valences, side draperies creating a more custom look.
